This past weekend was one of my favorite events in NYC, the Big Apple BBQ Block Party. What's not to love about live music, craft beer and the most delicious BBQ brought in from around the country?
This year's food did not disappoint. My favorite was the pulled pork sandwich from Ed Mitchell. Vinegar based North Carolina BBQ and delicious coleslaw. Yum!
The music was fab too. Those Darlins from Nashville and Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears kept the crowd going all day.

A SPECIAL INVITE...
Had to share this adorable 1st birthday party invite I ran across the other day on the Happiness Is blog. Not sure how well this would work in reality, as the packages would have to be hand delivered in a matter of hours, but a cute idea none the less...

Fire up the BBQ...
Happy Monday, everyone. I am getting a slow start this morning in part due to a very fun weekend of World Cup watching (Go USA!) and an overdose of delicious ribs and pulled pork sandwiches at the Big Apple BBQ Block Party yesterday.
It's not often that Madison Square Park and surrounding streets get closed down for a 2-day block party. Besides the yummy food, for non-meat eaters there were fantastic microbrews from Heartland Brewery and live bands from Austin, TX. Rain did not deter those in search of some good Southern BBQ. One word: Awesome.
