SIMPLE WOOD, GREAT DESIGN

This weekend, I was down in DC spending some quality time with my sister and her family. Between rain showers, we were able to take a number of walks outside. Living in NYC, I forget how nice it is to walk through neighborhoods with tree-lined streets. It got me thinking about how much I love wood as a material. It's so simple yet has such great texture, color and shape.

While rustic tables and chairs are great and I've written about reclaimed wood (here), recently I've been fascinated by modern designs, all made from wood. Here are a few of my favs.

Taking Inspiration from Kids...

So while I am pretty far from having kids of my own, I've had babies on the brain recently. Mostly because my newest nephew was born in June, a good friend just had a baby and another good friend is due very soon!

I've also been awed and inspired by some of the great kids rooms I've seen recently. Definitely want to borrow a few ideas for my own apt. Here are a few of my favs...
Can you tell I am in love with this room? Everything from gray and orange color palette to the great styling (i.e. folding ruler and clip boards to hold pics) Wow!

Who didn't fall in love with Jeanna Lyons' beautiful black, white and yellow nursery for her son, Beckett?

If you're going to go with a construction theme, why not a large, bright decal?

Friday Obsession- Vintage Street Signs

This week, I have been obsessing over vintage street signs. Not the type the decorate the walls of TGI Fridays, but instead vintage signs with a modern graphic feel to them. Here are a few of my favs...
