I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE...

Yesterday I spied these fantastic glasses from Nest Interiors in the latest issue of Lucky Magazine. 

I realized that the reason I like them so much that I already have a pretty similar set in my shop. They are from the era of Mad Men and are the rack makes a perfect display (and easy access) for a party.

I'm thrilled that one of my favorites shows, Mad Men is finally back! While my own experiences working in advertising hardly mirror that of Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Pryce (thank goodness!), I enjoy thinking of a bygone era of glamorous cocktail parties,  fabulous dresses and long booze-filled lunches.

I didn't realize this before, but many of my purchases for Octavia & Brown recently have been Mad Men inspired. Here are a few sneak peeks...

Friday Obsession Vintage Ginger Jar Lamps

Researching for this week's Friday Obsession, I have been drooling over vintage ginger jar lamps. I recently saw a picture of my parents living room from the 80s and it reminded me of the fantastic pair of clear glass ones they had.

I love the over-sized feel, the bright colors and the fact that they usually look better in pairs. 

These lattice-inspired lamps are cool because not only to they have a bulb up top, but they also light from within for a softer feel...

For these metal ginger jar lamps, you could really do any color shade up top, I would probably choose black to give them a more modern feel...
