Brrrrrrrr.....! That's what it feels like in my apartment right now. This weekend with temperatures in NYC dipping into the single digits and with friends staying at my apartment, I realized that I need some more blankets to ward off the cold. I'm in love with this coverlet from Urban Outfitters. The reversible colors and seed stitching are fantastic. This would be a perfect/ warm addition to my bed.

THE BIG DECISION...
A friend wished me good luck on my "forced renovation" this morning. While laughing, I thought to myself it's completely true, given the busy holidays and business, I haven't made a lot of time to tackle projects in my apartment. The flood while hardly ideal, has certainly made me think of the possibilities in my living room and bathroom. (It's also made me highly caffeinated from working at Starbucks everyday...)
Last night, I made the decision to repaint my living room walls white. Those of you who have been reading this blog know I love color. The first thing I did was paint every wall in my apartment, just because I could. But there is something about a fresh white wall appeals to me. It's clean and gives a new perspective on things. Plus, given the eastern facing windows in my apt, I hope will make the living room seem brighter throughout the day.
Now the big decision is which direction I want to go for accessories. A colorful mix of pink, orange and tan, or pure black and white. Here's my inspiration...

Hooray for Fall...
With summer quickly coming to a close, this week I plan to pack away my fun summer cocktail dresses and skirts and trade them out for cozy sweaters and jackets. I'm already dreaming of apple picking, bonfires, and crisp, cool nights. Hooray for Fall!
Researching color trends for Fall, I stumbled across Pantone's Fall color report. The folks at Pantone worked with some top designers to identify their favorite "it" colors from New York Fashion Week. I couldn't be more excited about the Fall color palettes of army greens, great jewel tones like ochre and purple, leopard prints and neutrals like chocolate brown, black and gray. I'm already thinking of ways to incorporate these color trends into wardrobe and my apartment.

Summer Brights...
If you've been reading my posts for even for a second, you'll already know that I am drawn to color. Summer is one of my favorite seasons because it's always jam packed with color! Brighter is always better in my book. When I saw this awesome turquoise Huffy bike on the shoot this weekend, I couldn't wait to order it! A blue and white bowl for a stylish pup and a bright raspberry chevron pillow are definitely hard to resist. Here are a few more of my favorites for the home...

Beautiful Entry...
Now that things have settled a bit, I am slowly tackling each room in my apartment. First up is the entryway, which has been long neglected as a place to store stuff before it goes out the door with me. I have been scouring design inspiration for unique entryways, which combine great design and function.
Despite the small size, this entryway provides useful storage.
I love the shocking, unexpected pink.
Very funky items in this Jonathan Adler designed entryway.
Amazing collection of finds add instant interest to this entryway.
Wow, I love everything about these wallpapered stairs!

Color Pop
When I first moved into my apartment, I painted the walls of my kitchen in Farrow and Ball's Drawing Room Blue. I loved the dramatic feel in the tiny space. I've recently been collecting inspiration from color used in unexpected ways in the kitchen.
Love the kelly green lacquered cabinets in this kitchen designed by Miles Redd.
The pop of color on the floor and the exposed ceiling in this kitchen are amazing.
The sky blue floor and cabinets give this kitchen a light, airy feel.
