Fashion, Fabric and Football

Wow! This weekend was a whirlwind.  Friday night's Fashion Night Out in NYC was an event not to be missed. I cruised around the Meatpacking District, catching glimpses of the ever stylish Tory Burch and Diane von Furstenberg.
Later in the night in Soho, Vera Wang told me that I needed to dance more. (She's probably right!)
Saturday, I perused the bolts of denim, printed cotton and men's shirting at Mood Fabrics. I was like a kid in a candy shop at Daytona Trimming. I dreamed of all the projects I could do with the rolls of brightly colored ric rac.
(Here are the fabrics that I ended up with. Trying to decide which to use to cover some pillows and for curtains in my living room).

Sunday marked one of my favorite activities of Fall: Football! I can't wait for the weather to get cooler, so I get get out the Pendleton blankets and vintage leather camp chairs for tailgating.

How was your weekend?

  1. Oh how much I am starting to adore this blog! My new room, doesn't have any blinds, so in a rush to cover the windows I used an old sheet and nailed it over the window, trying to spice it up a bit I tied a scarf around the middle of it. Needs some reworking though, and I was trying to figure out where I could buy something similiar but cuter and I never thought of the fabric store. Ahh...you saved my room's life! Thanks. Oh and the weekend was cool, now back to the job hunting grind!

  2. Oh good! Yes, a fabric store is a great place to buy some inexpensive (but fabulous!) fabric for curtains. In NYC you're really in luck. Try Mood Fabrics that I mentioned, but there are also a ton of great discount fabric stores in the Garment District (37th, 38th & 39th Sts (between Broadway and 9th Ave). Most sell wholesale and retail. Good luck and let me know what you end up with!
